Responsibilities

Supervises and coordinates the daily operations of the Phlebotomy section

Ensures efficient workflow and adequate staffing to meet turnaround times

Troubleshoots issues beyond the scope of phlebotomists

Maintains policies that comply with accrediting agency standards

Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating staff, and providing ongoing feedback and corrective actions as needed

Manages the operational budget

Promotes safety awareness

Ensures proper reporting of injuries or accidents

Performs phlebotomy duties as needed

Continually develops technical skills for service improvement

Required

Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification, renewal not required

Five years phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting including experience with pediatric, geriatric and oncology patients

Computer knowledge, and excellent oral and written communication skills

5 Years minimum experience required

Associates degree or Medical Laboratory Technical License

Preferred

Two (2) years supervisory experience
