Financial Controller
Strategic Employment Partners (SEP) is a privately held, fast-scaling infrastructure and technology operator seeking a Controller to lead its accounting function as the business prepares for an eventual public offering. The role involves overseeing GAAP reporting, internal controls, and complex accounting across multiple entities while driving IPO readiness efforts.

Responsibilities
Own GAAP financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement accuracy
Build, document, and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies in preparation for public-company standards
Oversee accounting for multiple entities, joint ventures, debt structures, and complex ownership arrangements
Lead audit coordination and manage federal, state, and local tax compliance, including ASC 740 considerations
Partner closely with operations, legal, and finance to evaluate new projects, investments, and cost drivers
Drive IPO readiness efforts, including SOX controls, reporting processes, and coordination with external advisors
Qualification
Required
8–15+ years of progressive accounting experience
Familiarity with IPO readiness, public traded reporting/regulation knowledge
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and public-company compliance requirements
Hands on experience with consolidations, revenue recognition, federal, state, and sales tax
Exposure to Joint Venture accounting
Proven ability to build processes, improve systems, and scale an accounting function
Comfortable operating as a hands-on leader in a growing, fast-paced organization
