Volunteer Development Specialist
Connecticut Rivers Council, Scouting America is seeking a Volunteer Development Specialist to support their volunteer training programs. This role involves coordinating with a nationwide network of volunteers to ensure the delivery of high-quality training and managing various training-related tasks.

Responsibilities
Supports volunteers at the national and territorial level to ensure the delivery of all volunteer training programs throughout Scouting America
Works with the volunteers to ensure consistency in training delivery across councils and to increase the percentage of leaders who have completed the specific training for their position
Manages the registration platform for all Wood Badge and NYLT course director conferences and provides support to the volunteers responsible for leading these events
Ensures all course director conferences are listed on the Scouting America website in a timely manner
Maintains a tracking spreadsheet of all course director conferences with attendance information in the Scouting U SharePoint folder
Conducts the annual billing to each council for their portion of the MPLC license (January)
Manages the national or territorial volunteer approval process for Scouting U committee roles, NAYLE adult staff, PLC adult staff, and NYLT Leadership Academy adult staff. Maintains a tracking spreadsheet in the Scouting U SharePoint folder
Maintains a tracking spreadsheet of all Scouting America training courses (both for professionals and volunteers) and identifies the owner of each
Administers the Scouting U Volunteer Training SharePoint folder infrastructure
Maintains all Scouting U syllabi, curriculum, and other resources in the SharePoint folder
Administers the Scouting U mailboxes (ScoutingU@scouting.org and Course@scouting.org)
Serves as the notetaker for Scouting U Leadership Team meetings and Scouting U Committee meetings. Posts all meeting notes in the Scouting U SharePoint folder
Supports Safeguarding Youth efforts as a part of the mandatory training for membership in the organization
Serves as staff advisor for all Scouting U national learning offerings, including the National Volunteer Training Conference, Scouting U Week at the Philmont Training Center, the NYLT Symposium, etc
Instructs of facilitations Scouting U training and learning programs for employees, commissioned professionals, and managers
Meets the customer service needs of volunteers and councils who contact member care regarding questions about volunteer or youth development
Supports other national training initiatives as needed
Other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field from an accredited college or university
3 years of experience in volunteer training programs
Must pass a criminal history background check and driver's license check
Must have a valid driver's license in good standing and be able to operate a motor vehicle

Any combination of experience and knowledge of delivering Scouting programs (e.g., volunteer, field, training, etc.)
