Responsibilities

Provide specialized clerical assistance and coordination of activities within the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)
Assist and advise sponsors and their family members on services needed to support or assist with special educational, therapeutic, rehabilitative, or other needs
Based on patient enrollment, assist patient in initiating the EFMP packet within the EFMP database ensuring accuracy and completeness of records
Handle difficult and sensitive cases based on precedents or provide recommendations for resolution to the supervisor or EFMP physician for concurrence
Receive and coordinate queries from Human Resources Command related to the availability of accessible healthcare for EFMs residing within or accompanying the sponsor to MTF’s area of responsibility
Coordinate enrollments/overseas screening between Pediatrics, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Referral Management and a variety of other specialty clinics
Utilize office automation equipment and various software packages to complete correspondence, documents, reports and records for the EFMP
Conduct training for unit clerical personnel on general EFMP requirements to support accurate dissemination of information to Soldiers and families

Required

One year of specialized experience which includes providing customer service; scheduling appointments; maintaining and/or accessing records; and preparing a variety of correspondence, such as reports and spreadsheets
Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
A Personnel Security Investigation is required
This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption
This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial/probationary period may be required
Direct Deposit of Pay is required
