Assistant Attorney General - Criminal Justice Division's Financial Crimes Team, Seattle
The State of Washington's Attorney General's Office is seeking an Assistant Attorney General for its Criminal Justice Division's Financial Crimes Team in Seattle. Responsibilities
Investigate and prosecute a wide variety of financial crimes including wage theft, identity theft, complex fraud, elder fraud, and crimes committed by government employees and public officials
Work closely with senior AGO investigators, state agencies, and law enforcement partners to investigate and prosecute financial crimes
Proficiently prosecute a full range of crimes in addition to financial crimes
Travel around the state for court hearings, investigations, and trial preparation as necessary
Qualification
Required
Graduated from a law school accredited by the ABA or completed the WSBA's Rule 6 Law Clerk Program
Licensed to practice law in Washington state
Applicants who meet the other stated qualifications and are actively pursuing admission by motion will also be considered
Preferred
At least three years of trial experience and trial practice in criminal law
Exceptional legal research, writing and oral advocacy skills
Strong interpersonal skills that promote a collegial, inclusive and respectful workplace
Demonstrated good judgment when exercising discretion in criminal cases
The ability to work independently and in a variety of settings
Commitment to public service and justice for victims of crime
