Benefits Coordinator (6-Month LTA)

The D. E. Shaw group seeks a proactive and highly organized individual to join its Benefits team for a six-month limited-term assignment. This position offers the opportunity to support the firm’s benefits programs, foster a positive employee experience, and collaborate with a global team of human capital professionals.

Responsibilities

Administer day-to-day benefits programs, including answering employee questions about coverage, enrollment, and procedures
Oversee and coordinate employee wellness activities
Manage 401(k) plan governance, audits, and related administrative processes
Draft and deliver benefits-related employee communications
Conduct ongoing audits to ensure data accuracy across the benefits system and vendor platforms
Assist with U.S. and international benefits renewals and enrollment processes for new hires, dependent changes, and qualifying life events
Maintain and manage benefits-related data and workflows within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS)

Required

A bachelor's degree in any field of study
At least two years of experience in employee benefits or human capital management
Excellent record of academic and professional achievement
Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Proficiency in Excel is required
The ability to exercise the utmost discretion while working with highly confidential information
Exceptional attention to detail
Sound judgment
A problem-solving and service-minded approach

Preferred

Experience with HRIS maintenance and reporting
Workday experience is a decided plus
