Research Technician, Lowe Lab

The Research Technician role in the Lowe Lab involves laboratory organization, inventory management, and performing routine bench tasks to support cancer research under the guidance of senior staff.

Responsibilities
Maintain overall lab cleanliness and organization, including shared workspaces, storage areas, and equipment stations; Monitor inventory of reagents, consumables, and supplies; assist with ordering and restocking; Properly label, store, and track materials, samples, and chemical inventories; Assist in maintaining safety documentation, MSDS records, and compliance logs; Perform routine equipment upkeep (calibration checks, temperature logs, cleaning)
Perform routine cell culture and molecular biology work (e.g., Western blot, ELISA, IHC and/or IF, qPCR etc)
Conduct routine mouse work (e.g., injections, tissue/fluids collection, animal autopsies)
Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team
Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or a related life sciences field
Experience with cell culture and molecular biology work
Comfort working directly with animal models is required for this role
Preferred
Experience working with mice
