Responsibilities

This engineering function develops test procedures and conducts system testing of the vehicle and ground propulsion systems from receipt of the vehicle through launch at our East and West Coast Launch sites. Receive vehicle hardware, assembly of Launch vehicles system including checkout and console operations for testing and Launch
Must be able to analyze test data including off-nominal data for accuracy. Our team performs troubleshooting of vehicle and ground systems when anomalies occur. Some testing may involve hazardous operations systems including Propulsion fluids systems (cryogenic, non-cryogenic, hydraulics and pneumatics), Mechanicals systems (vehicle handling, ECS, and retract) and Electrical systems (avionics, ground electrical and ordnance)
This position involves mixed working environments including office work, writing and reviewing work authorization documents; field and console operations, executing test procedures in coordination with our union represented technician workforce and maintaining ground and flight systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related technical field from an accredited college or university
Troubleshooting, problem-solving, coordination and presentation skills
Familiar with fluid and mechanical systems
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Must be available for periodic travel to the other ULA sites
Ability to work at elevated heights and small spaces
This position will require working extended hours on weekends, and the potential for 1st or 3rd shifts as necessary to support vehicle processing and launch
Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD secret security clearance is required
US Citizenship is required

Preferred

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, including group presentations)
Experience working independently and in a team environment
Previous internship experience with a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering company
Experience with Engineering Drawings utilizing CREO, NX and Teamcenter a plus
Involvement in and completion of technical class projects
Basic working knowledge of engineering applications
Basic understanding of problem identification and issue resolution process steps
Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative, teamwork and leadership skills on previous class projects
Experience with troubleshooting system and component failures for quick resolution
