Development Director

Jasper County CASA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for children in foster care. The Development Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance donor and volunteer engagement, oversee fundraising efforts, and assist with grant writing management.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Create and implement annual development plan with goals derived from board approved strategic plan and budget
Lead fundraising events, including event planning, leading committees, soliciting and securing sponsorships
Create and implement effective donor stewardship activities and communications to support CASA’s long-term relationship with existing donors while building rapport with new and future donors
Monitor, evaluate, and expand business and faith-based organization partnerships
Manage donor software system to track, cultivate, and steward donors and prospects
Assist the CFO and Executive Director in grant development, including research, proposal writing, and reporting
Coordinate initiatives to promote CASA to the community
Oversee publications to support fundraising activities, including digital and print communications, such as brochures, annual report, e-newsletters, and direct mailing
Seek opportunities for speaking engagements, community awareness, and public relations
Represent CASA at community events
Prepare and post social media content on various platforms and keep website updated
Include volunteer recruitment in marketing & development plans
Collaborate and assist Advocate Supervisors and Program Director to plan and implement volunteer recognition and retention events and children’s parties
Provide Development and Fundraising updates to the Board of Directors and work collaboratively with board members
Participate in agency leadership meetings and decisions
Other duties as assigned by Executive Director

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field
Nonprofit fundraising and or marketing, public relations or communications experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office
The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities
Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect
Excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting established deadlines
Commitment to CASA program's goals and mission

Preferred

Grant writing experience is preferred but not required
Development and database fundraising software preferred but not required
