Responsibilities

Supervise all personnel and activities that directly influence the primary educational mission of the institution and student support services. This includes oversight of the library, academic support services, the Center for Excellence in Learning, registration and records and institutional effectiveness
Design and implement a comprehensive, strategic, and entrepreneurial academic master plan that prioritizes long-term financial success
Guide academic planning, program development, and academic assessment for both Hilbert College and Hilbert College Global
Collaborate with strategic partners to develop a comprehensive plan for improving retention, persistence, and graduation rates
Support faculty recruitment, retention, mentoring, and professional development for both Hilbert College and Hilbert College Global
Advocate for resources to ensure all students can experience academic success
Oversee the academic budget and manage the expenditures of funds
Collaborate with faculty leadership to review and update the Faculty Handbook annually
Represent the College in external matters and work with senior administrators in fundraising related to academic matters
Model Franciscan values to ensure all members of the college community feel valued and supported and have equitable access to educational and professional opportunities

Required

A Ph.D. or terminal degree in a field of study either supported by the college or closely related to its curriculum
Extensive teaching experience and have held the rank of Associate Professor or above; tenure preferred
Demonstrated success in academic administration and commitment to shared governance
The ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of constituents through a commitment to shared governance
Experience working effectively in an environment that requires prioritization and efficient use of existing resources and strategic creation of new resources
Experience managing faculty and staff relationships and conducting reviews based upon institutional grievance policies
The ability to build consensus in a complex organization
Demonstrated experience in creating innovative educational programs
Demonstrated success in cultivating a diverse and inclusive working environment
Strong collaborative and leadership skills
A deep understanding of higher education operations

Preferred

Experience with grant writing and grant oversight preferred
