Responsibilities
Identify, assess, and monitor technology and cyber risks, including system availability, cybersecurity, data integrity, and technology resilience
Maintain technology and cyber risks within the enterprise risk register, aligned to the enterprise risk taxonomy
Partner with IT and Information Security to assess control maturity and identify material risk gaps
Translate technical findings into clear, business-focused risk insights for senior leadership
Perform risk assessments for technology initiatives, including new systems, major upgrades, cloud migrations, and core platform enhancements
Ensure technology risks are identified early and aligned with enterprise risk appetite and tolerance
Partner with IT and ERM leadership to align recovery expectations (RTO/RPO) with business impact analysis results
Identify technology single points of failure and resilience gaps
Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and scenario exercises from a risk perspective
Support vendor and third-party risk management by assessing technology and cybersecurity risks associated with vendors
Define minimum technology risk expectations for critical vendors
Partner with Procurement, IT, and ERM on technology risk considerations in vendor selection and oversight
Support the development and maintenance of technology and information security risk governance standards
Partner with policy owners to ensure policies are risk-based, aligned with ERM, and fit for purpose
Support risk acceptance, exception, and escalation processes related to technology risk
Develop and monitor key risk indicators related to technology and cyber risk
Aggregate risk information from IT, Security, and third parties into management and governance reporting
Support executive and committee-level reporting on technology risk
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field
Significant experience in technology risk, IT risk, cybersecurity governance, audit, or operational risk
Experience assessing technology and cyber risks in financial services or similarly regulated environments
Ability to translate technical issues into business-focused risk discussions
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority
Preferred
Familiarity with technology and cyber risk frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT) preferred
Professional certifications such as CRISC, CISA, CISM, or similar preferred
