Pediatric Preschool / School-Aged Assessment Psychologist - Faculty - Assistant Professor
The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a board certified/board eligible psychologist to join their expanding Pediatric Psychology & Developmental Medicine Division. The role involves providing psychological services, conducting evaluations, and supporting families through therapy, while also engaging in teaching and potential clinical research opportunities.
Responsibilities
Provide child psychology services with a diagnostic focus on children with attention concerns, learning issues, autism, anxiety, language disorders, intellectual disabilities, etc., including interface and consultation with school personnel as needed
Specialize in conducting thorough evaluations to assess developmental, academic, cognitive, social, behavioral, and emotional concerns in children and adolescents
Work closely with our interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapy providers, and others
Help families understand their child’s strengths and weaknesses and diagnostic profile and in developing personalized recommendations for patients
Support families in an ongoing nature through therapy
Approximately 15-25% of your clinical time will be dedicated to engaging in evidence-based individual, family, or group treatment with patients with anxiety, ADHD, and developmental delays
Services provided include psychological assessment and testing and individual and group psychotherapy
Teach psychology learners, residents and medical students as they rotate through our clinics
Perform other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate
Qualification
Required
Eligible candidates should have a PhD or PsyD in an APA approved clinical psychology, school psychology, neuropsychology program, or appropriate subspecialty program
Candidates must also be licensed, or eligible to be licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Wisconsin
Experience in child/adolescent/pediatric psychology assessment practice (familiarity with cognitive, achievement, attention, executive functioning, memory, emotional, and social assessment measures) is required
Preferred
Clinical experience assessing and treating children and specialized training, including fellowship in child psychology is preferred
