They are seeking an IT Manager to own and evolve their internal technology and security foundation, managing day-to-day IT operations and leading key security initiatives as the company scales.

Responsibilities
Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including laptops, device provisioning, access setup, and troubleshooting
Serve as the primary owner of Rain’s IT vendors and tooling (e.g., Deel IT, JumpCloud), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and clear escalation paths
Coordinate device lifecycle management, including MDM enrollment, device returns, replacements, and inventory tracking
Support employees with day-to-day IT needs such as access issues, VPN support, and hardware troubleshooting
Own identity and access management across tools, ensuring users have the right access at the right time
Design and maintain role-based access controls across core systems (e.g., Google Workspace, cloud tools, internal SaaS)
Audit and clean up existing permissions across tools, including 1Password vault access and admin roles
Manage security configurations across internal tools, including MFA enforcement, device policies, and authentication standards
Lead the rollout and management of hardware-based authentication (e.g., YubiKeys)
Define and document policies around device usage, access, and security best practices
Partner with Engineering and Security to identify gaps, improve controls, and prepare for future audits or compliance needs
Improve and automate IT workflows using tools like JumpCloud (e.g., preconfigured apps, scripts, policies)
Ensure enterprise plans, licenses, and seat usage are managed efficiently across tools
Continuously evaluate and improve Rain’s internal IT and security stack as the company grows
Support new office setup and office IT needs, coordinating with external partners as needed
Act as the point person for IT-related vendor relationships, contracts, and negotiations
Qualification
Required
4–7+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or similar roles, ideally at a hyper growth startup or fintech business
Strong hands-on experience in IT operations and are comfortable owning foundational security practices in a growing company
Comfortable working with identity providers, MDM tools, access management systems, VPNs, and modern SaaS environments
You take pride in being the person who 'gets things done,' owning problems end-to-end and improving systems proactively
You thrive in environments with frequent onboarding, fast growth, and evolving needs, and you know how to build processes that scale
You think deeply about least privilege, access controls, and authentication, even when balancing speed and usability
You can explain technical concepts simply, write clear documentation, and partner effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
Preferred
Experience being an early or first IT hire, building processes and foundations from scratch
Familiarity with security tooling and best practices (MDM, MFA, hardware keys, audits)
Experience supporting hybrid or in-office environments and office IT setups
Background working in fintech, crypto, Web3, or other regulated industries
Exposure to compliance or audit preparation (SOC 2, ISO, etc.)
