Clinical Instructor – Small Animal Internal Medicine (SAIM)
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a full-time Clinical Instructor in Small Animal Internal Medicine (SAIM) to join their Department of Medical Sciences at the School of Veterinary Medicine. The role focuses on providing clinical instruction to veterinary students, interns, and residents while contributing to both teaching and patient care within a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities
Up to 36 weeks of clinical service per year in Small Animal Internal Medicine, allowing flexibility for educational and scholarly activities
Supervision and clinical instruction of fourth-year veterinary students, rotating interns, and residents on the SAIM service
Participation in patient care, case management, and clinical rounds within UW Veterinary Care
Active collaboration with faculty, technicians, and staff across specialty and allied services
Participation in didactic and laboratory teaching within the DVM curriculum where instruction is delivered through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous modalities, consistent with the OnWard curriculum design
Contributions and specific teaching assignments will be tailored to service and curricular needs as well as the instructor’s expertise
Opportunities to participate in collaborative clinical or educational research, based on interest
Support of house officer scholarly activity, including clinical research projects in support of residency requirements
Participation in service activities at the section, department, or school level, commensurate with role and appointment
Contribution to continuing education activities for veterinary students and trainees, and when appropriate, for practicing veterinarians
Qualification
Required
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree with board certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine (DACVIM-SAIM) or DACVIM-SAIM eligibility by the start date
Eligibility for a Wisconsin veterinary license by the start date
Preferred
Prior academic or teaching-focused clinical experience or experience working within a teaching hospital environment
