Eden Housing, Inc. is seeking a Youth Programs Assistant Manager to oversee and develop youth programs across their properties. The role involves supervising staff, designing curriculum, and ensuring the effective implementation of educational activities tailored to the needs of the residents.

Responsibilities

Develop uniform program procedures and processes for all youth programs in collaboration with the Youth Programs Manager or other designee
Develop standardized curriculum and planning strategies for all youth programs including, but not limited to, afterschool programs, teen programs targeting college and career workshops, family engagement strategies, field trips and/or project-based learning
Develop and conduct training for staff on standard youth program procedures, processes, and curriculum development
Assist with onboarding and training for new expanded learning staff, create necessary onboarding materials to assist staff with the implementation of the program
Provide guidance and training to staff on the implementation of youth program procedures, processes, and curriculum to ensure consistency across the portfolio
Research and identify grant opportunities or community service projects to expand programming for youth
Conduct research on youth development to inform program improvements
Participate in trainings and conferences to remain current in the best practices for youth development programs
Assist in making recommendations on changes or improvements to the youth programs based on quality assessment information and trends in the industry
Develop and implement educational and enrichment activities for children and youth that promote a safe environment, a supportive environment, teaches and practices social-emotional skills and promotes engagement from youth in design of program at assigned property location(s)
Where necessary, temporarily run expanded learning programs at assigned property location (s) where there is no After School Program Lead or Resident Services Coordinator
Assist in the implementation of the Raising a Reader program at assigned property location(s), including staff training, creating supportive resources for staff for effective program implementation and participating in necessary Raising a Reader meetings and trainings
Participate in relevant local, regional, state and/or national organizations as assigned
Maintain ongoing collaboration with local elementary schools and communicate regularly with teachers regarding student’s progress, homework, etc. for assigned property location(s)
Participates in organizing meetings and workshops for parents for the purpose of identifying or discussing youth concerns, successes, soliciting input on program components and parent education on best practices on engagement in their child’s educational development at assigned property location(s)
Assist in and/or provide crisis intervention and follow up at assigned property location(s)
Report child, dependent adult and elder abuse and neglect according to State law
Maintain program budgets in collaboration with Youth Programs Manager or designee
Participates in the meetings, trainings and continuous evaluation of program to ensure quality and growth
Oversee the Lexia databases, collecting required data, creating admin accounts for new staff and updating classroom rosters at assigned property location(s)
Collect required data for all programming offered, record data in the database (Salesforce) and submit reports in an accurate and timely manner for assigned property location(s). Maintain all reporting requirements set by funding and/or governmental agencies

Required

4-year college degree in education, youth development, sociology, psychology, or related field
OR 4 years related experience and/or training
OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Training and experience in tutoring, mentoring or teaching preferred. (May be volunteer experience.)
Experience with and aptitude for working with children and families
PC literate. Knowledge of basic computer Internet use and applications, (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Knowledge of educational software helpful
Willingness and interest in learning new computer programs and applications
Good communication (verbal and written), decision-making and evaluation skills
Experience working with diverse groups
Commitment to the company's goals and philosophy
