Field Technician, Wichita Area

The role involves supervising field crews, maintaining pipelines, and coordinating with contractors to uphold safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
Conducts routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory), operation of liquid handling systems, and operation of dehydration systems
Conducts pipeline pigging, hydrate management, etc
Responsible for Startup, Shutdown, and operating gas compression equipment
Maintains pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and vegetation, exposures
Maintains One-Call - Pipeline Locating, encroachment, excavation & crossing
Maintains records in accordance with Pipeline regulatory requirements
Conducts routine inspection, calibration and repair of meter and associated equipment (meter tube/plates, ultrasonic meter, flow computer)
Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valves, actuators, etc
Performs maintenance and repair of and fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc
Conducts routine inspection, such as transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection, etc
Performs and completes Preventive Maintenance (PM) work
Operate PLC, HMI equipment, software, pipeline valves and actuators
Maintain and repair motor control equipment
Operate basic computer functions, Word, Excel, Outlook, PP, and SAP
Complete regular training via in person as well as computer based
You are expected to independently organize your workday, prioritizing tasks such as inspections, maintenance, repairs, and record-keeping. This involves planning which equipment or sites to visit, scheduling preventive maintenance, and coordinating with contractors or field crews as needed
Qualification
Required
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
High School Diploma or GED
Maintain a valid driver's license
To live/relocate within 60 minutes of the reporting location
Willing and able to with or without reasonable accommodation: Lift up to 50 pounds
Occasionally exerts pulling force of up to 130 pounds
Regularly stoops, squats, kneels, and crouches for durations up to 30 minutes
Occasionally, they may climb A-frame ladders
Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the gas plant
Works extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
Works safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
Work in loud environment
Work inside gas plant / product terminal conditions as well as outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity
Pass a fit test for respirator / SCBA, and maintain your face so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven), as business needs?
Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
Preferred
Completion of Tech school program
3 or more years of oil and gas operations experience
3 or more years of work experience in pipeline maintenance or pipeline operations
