Responsibilities
Design and maintain enterprise Power BI datasets, data models, and semantic layers used by FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Procurement, Operations, and Executive leadership
Build reusable, governed data models aligned to D365, OneStream, Workday, Coupa, and other upstream systems
Define KPI logic, measures, and business rules in partnership with Data Governance and functional teams
Ensure reporting artifacts conform to the enterprise data architecture and canonical data model
Develop standardized dashboards and reports that eliminate manual spreadsheets and siloed reporting
Translate complex business requirements into high-performing, intuitive Power BI solutions
Partner with FP&A and Accounting to streamline monthly reporting, forecasting, and analytical cycles
Engage regularly with business users to gather feedback and iterate on delivered solutions
Build validation logic within models to ensure data integrity, completeness, and accurate lineage
Partner with Data Governance to ensure all critical data elements used in reporting are properly defined, controlled, and aligned to ontology and glossary standards
Support testing and reconciliation between OneStream, D365, and Power BI outputs
Identify and automate repetitive reporting or data preparation tasks
Optimize Power BI models, DAX expressions, refresh strategies, and Power BI Service configurations for maximum performance
Implement data partitioning, incremental refresh, and query optimizations where appropriate
Establish and enforce best practices for workspace management, dataset certification, and deployment pipelines
Work closely with ERP, Integrations, HRIS, Procurement, and Treasury teams to ensure BI structures reflect accurate upstream mappings and master data
Partner with Data Governance to maintain consistent definitions across all reporting assets
Work in close coordination with the Power Apps / Power Platform lead to align workflows, automation, and reporting solutions where appropriate
Provide expertise and guidance to NMS business users consuming datasets or building self-service reports
Document all models, KPIs, datasets, lineage, and semantic structures
Train FP&A and Accounting power users on interpreting and leveraging the semantic layer
Support change management and user adoption of new reporting structures
Provide transition documentation at the end of the engagement to ensure continuity of reporting
Qualification
Required
15+ years of experience in BI, analytics engineering, data warehousing, or reporting architecture
Deep hands-on mastery of Power BI (DAX, Power Query, modeling, semantic layer design, optimization)
Strong SQL experience and familiarity with structured, dimensional, and semantic modeling
Experience integrating Power BI with systems such as D365, OneStream, Workday, Coupa, Concur, and Kyriba
Demonstrated success building enterprise-level Power BI datasets used by multiple functions
Strong understanding of financial processes, KPIs, and reporting cycles (FP&A, Accounting, Treasury)
Ability to work independently as a senior consultant while collaborating across technical and functional teams
Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into scalable BI architectures
Experience supporting user training, documentation, and iterative improvements
Preferred
Experience collaborating with Power Platform teams (e.g., Power Apps, Power Automate) is preferred
