The role involves greeting visitors, managing park reservations, caring for live animal displays, and ensuring the center's operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities

Greets groups and the general public visiting the Environmental Discovery Center (EDC); disseminates information about park facilities and local areas of interest to park visitors

Assists visitors with park reservations for overnight accommodations, canoes and kayaks, rental facilities, etc

Responsible for handling, feeding, and general care and maintenance of the EDC’s live animal collection and displays

Collects and accounts for daily revenue. Accurately completes and submits all required receipts and reports

Properly secures the building upon opening and closing

Works as needed on holidays, weekdays, weekends and/or evenings

Trains in the field of environmental education by utilizing resources and opportunities as they arise to keep abreast of current developments in the field

Represents the Environmental Discovery Center and Lynches River County Park at community festivals and events

Performs light housekeeping activities to ensure the attractiveness, cleanliness and safety of the EDC; assists with program set-up and clean-up
