Managing Litigation Attorney

Aero Law Center is seeking a Managing Litigation Attorney who will serve as a senior leader responsible for overseeing complex aviation and corporate litigation matters. The role involves shaping litigation strategy, mentoring attorneys, and managing high-stakes matters for domestic and international aviation clients.

Law Practice

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee complex aviation litigation matters across a diverse aviation client base, including aircraft owners, airlines, pilots, aviation maintenance companies, repair stations, manufacturers, component suppliers, maintenance crews, fixed-base operators, and private charter operations
Direct litigation strategy for assigned matters, including case assessment, issue identification, risk evaluation, and determination of legal viability, ensuring alignment with client objectives and firm standards
Manage, mentor, and supervise litigation attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, providing guidance on legal strategy, workload management, professional development, and performance expectations
Serve as a primary advisor to clients, explaining litigation options, risks, strategies, timelines, and potential outcomes to support informed decision-making
Guide and review legal research involving case law, statutes, rules, and regulations to ensure high-quality advocacy and well-supported legal positions
Oversee discovery processes, including evidence strategy, deposition planning, subpoena strategy, and review of discovery requests and responses
Direct and review the drafting, filing, and argument of motions, including dispositive motions and motions in limine, to advance client positions
Lead settlement strategy and negotiations, including evaluating resolution options and negotiating agreements as authorized by clients
Oversee trial preparation efforts, including case theory development, witness preparation, evidentiary strategy, trial motions, and compliance with court orders and trial schedules
Represent clients and lead advocacy efforts in state, federal, and administrative proceedings, including hearings, trials, and appeals
Ensure strict adherence to court rules, court orders, ethical obligations, and firm policies, while maintaining accurate case documentation and records
Maintain deep knowledge of the aviation industry and its regulatory environment to effectively guide litigation strategy and advise clients
Ensure litigation matters are managed efficiently, on schedule, and within approved budgets, coordinating internally across practice groups when litigation intersects with other legal areas
Support and lead litigation-focused business development efforts, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the firm’s aviation litigation practice
Perform other related responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the team and the firm

Required

Advanced aviation and commercial litigation expertise with strong trial and courtroom experience
Strong leadership, managerial, mentorship, and interpersonal skills
Strategic and analytical thinker with sound business judgment
Excellent verbal, written, and client communication skills
Skilled in negotiation, litigation, case management, and decision-making
Thorough understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, rules of evidence, rules of professional responsibility, and trial procedures
Exceptional research, analytical, problem-solving, and writing abilities
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to build and maintain high-value client relationships
Proficient in Microsoft Office, legal practice management systems, and office technology
Self-disciplined with the ability to work independently and manage remote attorneys
Excellent oral advocacy and courtroom experience
Flexibility to work occasional nights or weekends as needed
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active Florida bar license and in good standing
10+ years of litigation experience
Must be able to travel for industry, firm events, and to court as applicable at approximately 10-20% of the time
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Ability to work flexible hours as required by clients and business needs
