Responsibilities
Sample Processing and Preparation
Utilization of a LIMS for data entry and reporting
QA/QC activities including but not limited to validations, SOP writing and compliance, calibrations, proficiency testing oversight, CARs, data review, and ensuring accreditation compliance
Laboratory analysis/ microscopy
Operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including a microscope
Reporting and client communication
Maintaining organization and cleanliness of laboratory area
Ordering and oversight of supplies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science
5+ years of professional environmental/ IH laboratory experience
2+ years of bulk asbestos analysis via microscopy techniques required (both PLM and TEM experience preferred)
Attention to detail, accuracy, integrity
Ability to read, apply, and teach standards, methods, regulations, and SOPs
Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred
Geology Degree strongly preferred
1+ years of laboratory leadership experience preferred
1+ years of quality systems experience (ISO 17025, AIHA, NVLAP, ELAP preferred) preferred
