Responsibilities
Advise employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leaves of absence, and workplace investigations
Handle PAGA matters, including pre-litigation strategy, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and coordination with state agencies
Draft and review employment agreements, handbooks, policies, and separation agreements
Manage employment litigation matters from pre-litigation through resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
Assist with administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC, DFEH/CRD, and DLSE
Support clients with compliance issues involving federal, state, and local employment laws
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and client advisories
Collaborate with partners and senior associates on complex employment disputes and counseling matters
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in California
2+ years of labor and employment law experience (litigation and/or counseling)
Demonstrated exposure to and experience with PAGA claims, including wage-and-hour class or representative actions
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills and a client-service mindset
Preferred
Experience handling employment-related motions, discovery, and client counseling
