Finance Manager
WMP Eyewear is a fast-growing eCommerce brand dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable eyewear. They are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, manage an external bookkeeping agency, and build financial infrastructure to support the company’s growth.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly margin flash reports for the CEO, providing preliminary P&L insights on revenue, COGS, inventory turns, fulfillment, and shipping costs, conversion, AOV, returns, discounts, and payment processing fees
Analyze performance vs. plan across revenue, COGS, gross margin, and operating expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities and margin improvement initiatives across the business
Partner with leadership to provide actionable insights, scenario modeling, and decision support
Develop channel-level and SKU-level profitability analysis
Model the financial impact of promotions, pricing changes, new product launches, and marketing spend
Forecast cash flow and working capital needs, including inventory planning
Participate in the month-end close process, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
Create and maintain dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., inventory exposure dashboard, sales matrix) to support leadership and sales teams with data-driven decisions
Manage all aspects of inventory accounting, including accounts payable for inventory, landed duty cost calculations, and journal entries
Lead monthly inventory meetings with warehouse production, consultants, and sales leadership to review current stock, upcoming orders, and projections
Monitor inventory on hand, inventory on order, and booked sales orders to track overall exposure and help plan effectively for future seasons
Own sales tax compliance and nexus management including managing new state registrations, filings, ongoing compliance, and coordinating with external tax advisors as needed
Ensure all bank transactions are entered weekly and reconciled monthly by our bookkeeping firm
Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, streamline reporting, and enhance financial transparency
Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and timely payments through Bill.com
Maintain vendor records and confirm invoices are properly entered into the system
Partner with leadership to manage payment schedules and optimize cash flow
Review monthly payables to ensure compliance with internal controls and accurate financial reporting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
4+ years of relevant accounting experience within e-commerce, consumer goods, or retail
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting best practices
Experience owning payroll, AP/AR, and monthly close processes
Deep experience with financial reporting, controls, and analysis
Demonstrated ability to identify cost savings and improve financial efficiency
Proficiency with QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Excel/Google Sheets
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Comfortable operating in a startup or high-growth environment toggling strategy and hand-ons execution
Preferred
Knowledge of NetSuite is a preferred plus
Experience with Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, A2X, or NetSuite is a strong plus
