Accounting Supervisor
Confidential company is seeking an Accounting Supervisor who will play a crucial role in the plant finance team. This position involves overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and collaborating with various departments to support operational decision-making.

Responsibilities
Oversee and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for the manufacturing facility
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules
Ensure accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Maintain fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capital project tracking
Support external audits, internal audits, and compliance requirements
Maintain and analyze standard costing, BOMs, routings, and labor rates
Perform variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and explain results to management
Support inventory accounting including cycle counts, physical inventories, reserves, and adjustments
Partner with operations to understand production drivers, margins, and cost improvement opportunities
Supervise and mentor accounting staff (AP, AR, staff accountants, or cost accountants)
Review work for accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls
Assist in training and developing accounting team members
Help establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
Analyze plant performance versus budget and prior periods
Provide financial insights to plant leadership to support operational decisions
Utilize ERP systems (SAP) to ensure data integrity
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls
Support system upgrades, implementations, or reporting enhancements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
Strong understanding of GAAP and manufacturing accounting principles
Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
Supervisory or team lead experience
Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel
Preferred
Cost accounting and standard costing experience
CPA or CMA (or progress toward certification)
Experience in a plant or multi-site manufacturing environment
Experience working with operations and plant leadership
