Responsibilities

Manages the planning, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of programs and courses in Teacher and Community Education (TCE) department
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced public educational program professional to resolve a wide range of educational program issues and needs assessments
Develops new public educational programs and works on complex public educational programs of diverse scope
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for delivering courses, presentations and development programs
Receives general instructions and exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for course and instructional improvement
Fully knowledgeable in course subject matter and program
Ongoing course schedule planning, instructor recruiting, student and instructor advising, promotional planning, periodic program and course evaluation and adjustment, and responding to complex programmatic issues
Participates in long-range strategic planning in conjunction with the department director and other stakeholders
Develops outlines for new course curricula and updates or recommends updates to existing course content
Participates in the development of strategic marketing plans and coordinates marketing events
Develops and monitors budgets

Required

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working in, education programs, including but not limited to K-16 and Early Childhood Education (ECE)
Demonstrated experience with continuing education, early childhood education, professional associations, and corporate contract training
Knowledge of adult learning principles to build sustainable learning with adults
Demonstrated experience providing academic advising to students
Demonstrated experience hiring and training instructors
Thorough knowledge of functional area and understanding of how work may impact other areas
Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills
Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills
Thorough knowledge of organization policies and procedures
Thorough knowledge of and skill in delivering programs
Thorough knowledge of current public educational programs and trends
Thorough skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations / courses to meet organizational needs
Knowledge of managing a portfolio of business and management courses at the university or corporate level. Specifically, courses in K-16 education and Early Childhood Education / Development
Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
Thorough knowledge of marketing concepts including participating in developing marketing plans, targeting audiences, and coordinating marketing events
Demonstrated experience developing and overseeing budgets
