Director, Market Development & Operations Strategy
Trident Service Group is a rapidly growing, multi-branch swimming pool service business operating across the Mid-Atlantic region. They are seeking a Director of Market Development & Operations Strategy to build the playbook for greenfield operations and launch new locations, focusing on maximizing revenue growth and service quality.

Responsibilities
Evaluate existing branch-level processes across service, repair, renovation, and construction
Design, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for greenfield locations across:
Scheduling and routing
Technician productivity and utilization
Quality assurance
Safety
Equipment, fleet management, and inventory (including standardizing vendor selection, procurement processes, and ensuring consistency in the utilization of company-wide SKU codes)
Customer communication
Build training curriculum for field staff and partner with HR and other operations management to fill talent pipeline through new training programs
Establish clear operating KPIs and dashboards to drive accountability and continuous improvement
Identify inefficiencies, variability, and margin leakage at the field and branch level
Build a scalable SOP playbook that can be rolled out consistently across future greenfield locations
Lead operational planning for new branch launches, including:
Market setup and readiness
Hiring and training initial field teams
Equipment, fleet, and inventory procurement
Implementation of systems, SOPs, and reporting
Own the launch-to-stabilization process, overseeing early-stage day-to-day operations to ensure new branches ramp efficiently and predictably
Continuously refine the greenfield playbook as we expand into new markets
Develop local voice of the customer knowledge to inform growth strategy and decision making
Support development of marketing campaigns in new markets utilizing internal advertising and design resources
Track item sales velocity in new markets and maintain excel-based forecast to inform procurement decisions
Perform various operations analysis including route density and work order quality control reviews
Participate in and potentially lead other growth and efficiency initiatives such as apprentice program training and acquisition integration projects
Qualification
Required
10-20 years of total professional experience
Meaningful experience in home services, field services, or route-based businesses, such as: Pool service, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical, Pest control or lawn care, Restoration, exterior services, or similar multi-branch service businesses
Experience managing or influencing multiple locations or territories
Demonstrated ability to build processes and enforce SOPs while maintaining a strong field culture
Demonstrated experience in greenfield location development
Strong excel skills for KPI tracking, analysis, and forecasting
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
Strategic Planning: Ability to take long-term operational plans and translate them into measurable, short-term actions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfort operating in a growth-oriented, private-equity-style environment
Change Management: Exceptional leadership and communication skills required to manage organizational change, especially when working with acquired company cultures and systems
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of P&L statements, budgeting, capital planning, and ROI analysis
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time regionally to support expansion activities
Preferred
Experience applying a similar playbook and training in acquisition situations
Have risen from technician, supervisor, or branch-level roles into operations leadership
Have worked inside a PE-backed or highly process-driven home services or field service business
Have helped implement SOPs, launch new locations, or scale operations across multiple branches
Are excited by ambiguity and building structure where none fully exists yet
Want real ownership and influence – not a narrowly defined corporate role
