Responsibilities

Responsible for the operations and management of the Facilities Management Controls System (FMCS). The FMCS is a network of facility system controllers with both embedded software routines as well as configurable software code, downloaded from remote or directly connected workstations
Plan, design, and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, operation and alteration of the BAS. Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or other regulatory requirements, expected completion date, and construction feasibility
Coordinate with internal and external architecture/engineering organizations in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Reviews and provides strategic input for construction and facilities upgrades. Defines options or approaches for system, processes, facility facility-related improvements in terms of safety, performance, and facility efficiency
Responsible for facility BAS program requirements and implementation to ensure facility systems and component reliability. Determine requirements for facility BAS spare parts inventories in support of facility capabilities. Supports the development of annual and out-year facility operation and maintenance budgets
Responsible for the efficient operation of facility systems to meet environmental, safety, and occupant mission needs. Specifies requirements for procurement of replacement equipment and performance. Responds to facility upset conditions and events that impact the facility. Integrates Facility sustainability operational considerations in support of DOE and Laboratory goals
Monitor and provide configuration control of various building environment systems to include HVAC and lighting, electrical, effluent monitoring, water treatment, vacuum, supply/exhaust airflow, chilled and hot water, steam, and pumps, in an effort to achieve energy saving capabilities
Support general facility operations, which may include general maintenance/repair of facility equipment and facility outages
Collaborate with Building Operations Control Center (BOCC) Building Engineer and the Sustainability Engineers to develop and implement Sequence of Operations (SOOs); perform commissioning/functional testing of new controllers; improve metering program performance; and support electrical load management
Interface with IT on network configuration of overall FMCS systems for new facility or major renovation projects, such as IP address and troubleshooting

Engineering degree
Understanding of building automation system programming and graphics
Knowledge in/understanding with interpreting HVAC Sequence of Operations
Knowledge in/understanding with JCI Metasys control system/Metasys User Interface; and/or Allerton building control system
