Qualification
Required
Have a high school diploma or GED certification from an accredited institution
Have five years of experience in bookkeeping or in reconciling payroll journals and records
Have an equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of two years of college in accounting may be substituted for the experience requirement
Knowledge of the principles and practices of bookkeeping
Knowledge of standard payroll practices, systems, terminology and procedures
Skill in performing data evaluation, analysis calculation and processing
Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy
Ability to maintain a wide variety of accounts
Ability to deal courteously with other employees and the public
Ability to conduct research and to resolve inquiries and problems
Ability to train office support personnel
Ability to prepare financial reports
Ability to make adjustments to a variety of accounts
Ability to recommend modifications in bookkeeping and accounting procedures
