Structural Forensic Engineer - PE
CTLGroup is a team of engineers, architects, scientists, and consultants with expertise in structures and materials. They are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to investigate structural failures, perform root cause analyses, and develop repair solutions for clients.
Consulting
Responsibilities
Conduct forensic investigations of structural systems, including buildings, bridges, and other civil/structural infrastructure
Perform site inspections, field testing, and data collection to determine the cause of structural issues or failures
Analyze structural performance using calculations, modeling, and applicable building codes and standards
Develop detailed technical reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommended solutions
Design repair or remediation plans and oversee implementation during construction phases
Provide expert witness testimony, when required, for litigation or insurance claims
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to resolve complex structural problems
Qualification
Required
PE license required
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or closely related field (advanced degree preferred)
8+ years of experience
Experience with forensic structural engineering investigations related to buildings, structures, and infrastructure systems
Experience with client development and project management; experience with insurance and legal sector clients is a plus
Experience leading teams and/or mentoring staff
Preferred
