Electronic Trading – Equities Quant Research AVP
Barclays is a leading global investment bank, and they are seeking an Electronic Trading - Equities Quant Research AVP to develop and implement quantitative models for equity trading execution algorithms. The role involves conducting deep analysis of market microstructure and trading behavior to improve execution quality and reduce transaction costs.

Responsibilities
Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets
Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions
In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics
Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries
Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment
Qualification
Required
Practical knowledge of modern statistical learning techniques
Knowledge of Python and the related data science ecosystem
Ability to effectively communicate research ideas and results through well-written reports and clear data visualizations
Working knowledge of KDP/ language Q
Strong engineering/development background is a plus
Preferred
High attention to detail in creating high-quality scientific research on algorithmic execution
Prior experience with equity trading algorithms
Knowledge of US market microstructure
Experience handling and analyzing large volumes of tick-level data
