This part-time contract role focuses on the design, development, and maintenance of the company's internal intranet and external website, as well as visual branding materials, providing hands-on experience under mentorship.

Responsibilities
Assist in designing, building, and maintaining the company’s internal intranet as a centralized hub for internal data, resources, and communication
Design intranet pages that surface company announcements, policies, guidelines, safety documentation, marketing materials, and departmental content
Support intranet-based workflows such as internal forms, time-off requests, reference documents, and self-service resources
Update and enhance the company’s external website, including content updates, layout improvements, and new pages or sections
Design and build new internal web portals or websites aligned with company branding and business goals
Create intuitive page layouts, navigation structures, and user interface elements to improve usability and accessibility
Collaborate with internal departments to gather requirements and translate business needs into functional web and intranet solutions
Create polished graphics, icons, visual layouts, and branding elements for websites, intranet pages, internal documentation, and presentations
Design logos and branding assets for new or developmental products, initiatives, or internal projects
Update and maintain product labels, packaging artwork, and visual identifiers in accordance with branding, revision, or compliance requirements
Edit and optimize photos and digital assets for internal and external use
Provide limited, backup IT support assistance when primary IT resources or the managed service provider are unavailable, including basic device setup or troubleshooting
Escalate technical issues to IT leadership or the managed service provider as appropriate
All work is performed under guidance, review, and final approval from the IT & Business Systems Manager or leadership
Qualification
Required
Strong interest in web design, intranet platforms, and visual/graphic design
A strong eye for visual design, layout, branding, and aesthetics
Basic understanding of how websites and online content are structured, including pages, navigation, and content organization
Comfortable working with standard business software and collaboration tools, including Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Excel)
General familiarity with Windows operating systems and everyday computer use
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through on assignments
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with a mentor and cross-functional teams
Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and processes across web, design, and technical areas
Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Web Development, Information Systems, Computer Science, Digital Media, Business Technology, or a related field
Preferred
Coursework or exposure to web design, graphic design, or digital media concepts preferred
Experience with HTML, CSS, SharePoint, WordPress, templating systems, or graphic design tools is a plus but not required
Prior internship, academic project, or personal project experience related to web design, graphic design, or internal systems is beneficial
