Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing data from various sources
Ensure data pipelines are reliable and able to handle large volumes of data in real-time or batch processing
Design and implement data architectures that support data processing and analytics needs
Optimize data storage solutions for performance, scalability, and security
Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and consistency
Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move and transform data as required
Manage database systems and ensure they are optimized for data retrieval and processing
Maintain and enhance database schemas and develop advanced database queries
Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver relevant solutions
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility
Monitor data infrastructure performance and identify areas for improvement
Implement performance tuning measures to enhance the efficiency of data processing
Maintain data security and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and HIPAA
Implement data governance policies and procedures
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, architectures, and processes
Follow best practices in data engineering, including version control, testing, and code quality
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering
Continuously seek opportunities to improve data infrastructure and processes
Qualification
Required
U.S Citizenship required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
At least 7 years of experience in Oracle-focused database engineering or a related role
Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, and packages, and experience with Oracle RDS
Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling, including schema and metadata management
Experience with performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries, including indexing strategies, execution plans, partitioning, and materialized views
Knowledge of ETL/ELT data transformations and data validation and reconciliation frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data quality profiling and discrepancy analysis
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred
Experience in a government contracting environment
Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics tools
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
