Responsibilities

Install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair avionics equipment and systems for aerospace vehicles
Perform equipment setup and maintenance activities
Use precision measurement tools to fabricate fixtures for use, including non-flight parts with standard alloys and simple geometry
Perform precision cleaning and chemistry processes
Adhere to general best shop practices, including PPE and shop safety requirements
Demonstrate correct packaging and handling requirements for all hardware
Apply 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness in daily tasks
Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines
Document and report any issues or discrepancies found during inspections and tests

Required

Typically 2+ years of related experience
Familiarity with general best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements
Ability to perform basic equipment setup and maintenance activities and display general mechanical aptitude and hand tool competency
Able to use precision measurement tools and fabricate fixtures for use, including non-flight parts with standard alloys and simple geometry
Ability to learn and perform precision cleaning and chemistry processes
Ability to learn 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness
Ability to demonstrate correct packaging and handling requirements for all hardware

Preferred

Formal training, degree, or certification in avionics, electronics, or a related technical field
Certification: Airman's certificate, FCC license, or IPC level certification
Experience with avionics systems and equipment, including but not limited to navigation, communication, and flight control systems
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Familiarity with avionics testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators
Knowledge of software tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting of avionics systems
Understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) principles and their application in avionics systems
Experience with soldering and crimping techniques for avionics wiring and connectors
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
