Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor
USAJOBS is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor to work independently under the Chief of Pharmacy Service at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. The role involves providing and coordinating optimal pharmaceutical care activities in the Outpatient Pharmacy and supervising the activities of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Responsibilities
Acts as the liaison between the Outpatient Pharmacy and the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center and Patient Advocates
Responsible for managing day-to-day functions and activities of the Outpatient Pharmacy
Develops and revises Outpatient Pharmacy policies and procedures
Ensures the Outpatient Pharmacy is compliant with applicable Federal, VA, and local policies
Participates in medical center and departmental goal planning and quality improvement activities
Strives to achieve VA and departmental performance metrics
Immediately responsible for the Outpatient Pharmacy pharmacists and Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Supervisor
Arranges huddles for pharmacy staff as to maintain daily communication with staff and inform staff of current updates/changes
Prepares the schedule and daily tour of duty assignments for the Outpatient Pharmacy pharmacists
Responsible for approving and denying leave requests, including but not limited to annual and sick leave, for the Outpatient Pharmacy staff
Performs quality control and facilitates performance improvement of pharmacy staff's work
Continually evaluates the Outpatient Pharmacy for opportunities for improvement
Completes job performance evaluations, recommendations for awards, and/or disciplinary actions for the Outpatient Pharmacy staff, and makes recommendations to the Chief of Pharmacy, or designee, when appropriate
Serves on medical center and VISN committees as assigned
Participates in meetings, conferences, and training programs relevant to the development and maintenance of the Outpatient Pharmacy
Identifies continuing education, training needs, etc. for Outpatient Pharmacy staff
Assists in preparing and coordinating new employees' on-boarding experience
Responsible for implementing and documenting training and expanding capabilities of pharmacists
May serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and/or pharmacy residents
Functions as a GS-12 Pharmacist when the need arises

Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree
Graduates of foreign pharmacy degree programs meet the educational requirement if the graduate is able to provide proof of achieving the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Commission (FPGEC) Certification
Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia
In addition to the GS-12 requirements, must have 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level
Ability to effectively supervise subordinate staff
Ability to communicate orally and in writing to persuade and influence clinical and management decisions
Expert understanding of regulatory and quality standards pertaining to pharmacy
Skill in managing people or program
