Senior Identity & Access Management Manager (IAM) – Cybersecurity
Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is a global leader in tools and innovative technology, seeking a Senior Identity & Access Management (IAM) Manager for their Cybersecurity team. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee IAM governance, shape policies, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure secure and compliant identity management across the organization.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a global IAM team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and inclusive culture that values diversity, equity, and belonging
Develop, implement, and maintain IAM governance framework and security standards in line with organizational and regulatory requirements
Oversee IAM governance team’s procedures, workflows, and advisory processes to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance
Provide expert strategic advice on identity and access controls, including principles of least privilege and segregation of duties
Advise on IAM solutions and process improvements across internal workers, vendors, customers, and non-human identities (NHI)
Develop and communicate training materials and documentation to support adoption of IAM policies and standards across the organization
Conduct assessments of IAM processes to ensure compliance with company standards
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies regarding IAM governance and compliance
Identify and drive improvements in IAM processes to enhance efficiency, security, and compliance
Advise on IAM risk mitigation strategies and ensure IAM risks are integrated into enterprise risk management processes
Monitor IAM systems (e.g., SailPoint ISC, Active Directory including Entra ID, CyberArk, BeyondTrust) and ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) to identify and advise on security risks
Stay informed about the latest IAM technologies and best practices, including SSO, passwordless authentication, and emerging threats, and provide recommendations to senior leadership
Influence and collaborate with senior leadership, business units, and technical teams to drive adoption of IAM governance and best practices
Champion change management efforts for new IAM policies, technologies, and processes; address and manage resistance to change across the organization
Advise on investigation of security incidents related to identity and access management and recommend corrective actions
Escalate governance issues and ensure timely resolution through advisory and collaboration
Prepare and present periodic reports (annual, quarterly, monthly) on IAM program status, effectiveness, incidents, metrics, and recommendations for improvement
Communicate IAM standards and policies to users and stakeholders across the organization
Develop and track KPIs and metrics to measure and report on the effectiveness of the IAM program; utilize metrics and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement and alignment with industry standards
Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive adoption and understanding of IAM standards and practices
Support succession planning and career development for IAM team members
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree and 8–10 years of relevant experience, OR
Graduate degree and 6–8 years of relevant experience, OR
Equivalent combination of education and work experience totaling 8–10 years of relevant experience
Strong understanding of IAM frameworks and best practices (e.g., ISO27001, NIST)
Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong collaboration skills; able to work effectively across departments and organizational levels
Experience with Identity Management Systems, specifically SailPoint ISC, Active Directory (including Entra ID), and Privileged Access Management platforms (e.g., CyberArk, BeyondTrust), with the ability to advise on their implementation and optimization
Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
Knowledge of IT Service Management systems, including ServiceNow
Ability to develop and implement strategic improvements
Experience facilitating workshops and meetings
Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and presentations
Ability to tailor metrics and insights to different audiences
Demonstrated learning agility and flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies and requirements
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred
Relevant certifications (e.g., CIAM, CIMP, CISSP) are highly desirable
