Academic Paralegal Intern
Harris County District Attorney's Office is seeking Academic Paralegal Interns to work directly with experienced paralegals and trial attorneys. Interns will assist with various duties including victim and witness interviews, trial preparation, and court observation.

Responsibilities
Assist paralegals and attorneys with a wide range of duties, including (1) victim and witness interviews; (2) assistance with formal plea procedures; (3) trial preparation; (4) research and writing; and (5) assistance with jury selection and jury trials
Accompany prosecutors to court to observe and help with court dockets, hearings, and trials
Complete additional assignments, specific projects, or observations as prescribed by their school or professors
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university for paralegal studies and certification
Ability to assist paralegals and attorneys with a wide range of duties, including victim and witness interviews, assistance with formal plea procedures, trial preparation, research and writing, and assistance with jury selection and jury trials
Willingness to accompany prosecutors to court to observe and help with court dockets, hearings, and trials
Ability to complete additional assignments, specific projects, or observations as prescribed by their school or professors
Submission of a cover letter, resume, application, unofficial transcript, and head and shoulders shot photo for ID badge
Availability to work a maximum of 40 hours per week during the summer internship term
Ability to work completely in-person as HCDAO does not offer remote internships
