Operations and Finance Executive Director

Partridge Creek Farm is seeking an Operations & Finance Executive Director to share leadership responsibility for overseeing mission fulfillment and long-term organizational viability. This role focuses on financial oversight, operational excellence, fundraising strategy, and organizational compliance while collaborating with the Programs & Partnerships Co-ED.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Manages Finance & Office Administrator, Community Garden Manager, and Farm Manager
Oversees applicable financial and operational contractors (accountant, auditor, grant writers and administrative support)
Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations for staff and contractors under purview
Works collaboratively with Co-Executive Director on overall organizational staff development
Financial Oversight: Develop and oversee all organizational budgets; monitor financial health and implement growth strategies
Fundraising Strategy: Lead diverse revenue development including grants, corporate partnerships, foundation relationships, and individual donor cultivation
Business Operations: Oversee and sometimes lead fundraising events; coordinate marketing and communications strategy
Financial Systems: Ensure robust financial tracking, grant reporting, compliance, and audit readiness
Strategic Resource Development: Work with Co-ED and board to expand and diversify funding pipeline
Operational Excellence: Develop and monitor all organizational operations including HR, legal, and regulatory compliance
Systems & Procedures: Implement policies and procedures that improve day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness
Staff Support: Oversee onboarding processes, employee handbook maintenance, and evaluation systems
Technology & Infrastructure: Ensure effective use of CRM systems, financial software, and organizational tools
Risk Management: Maintain organizational compliance including business status, insurance, and regulatory requirements
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Co-ED and board to articulate vision, mission, and theory of change aligned with strategic plan
Board Development: Provide board with resources for informed decision-making and organizational growth
Organizational Culture: Develop culture promoting transparency, equity, kindness, joy, and collaboration
External Representation: Represent organization at events, with media, donors, and stakeholders
Evaluation & Impact: Implement organizational evaluation systems to measure holistic impact and identify improvement areas

Required

Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written); superb interpersonal and diplomacy skills
Thorough understanding of non-profit financial management, budgeting, and grant reporting
Highly skilled in fundraising, business development, and partnership cultivation
Excellent organizational skills with refined attention to detail; expert in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Ability to inspire and motivate teams around common goals and organizational mission
Experience with QuickBooks, CRM systems, and grant management platforms
Extensive and diversified background with at least 5-7 years of related experience in non-profit leadership, with specific expertise in finance and operations
Demonstrated experience in non-profit financial management, fundraising, and organizational development

Preferred

Experience with direct service work in low-income communities
Background in food access, education, or community development
