Responsibilities

Advise on core nutritional principles and formula design for senior dogs and cats

Translate research and prior experimental results into evidence-based formulations

Guide formula verification plans, stability/compatibility considerations, and iteration paths

Synthesize latest research and trends in senior pet functional nutrition

Support clinical/field feedback collection strategies and data interpretation

Help craft scientific narratives for product claims substantiation and education

Ensure formulations and labeling align with AAFCO Model Regulations and NRC nutritional guidelines for dogs and cats

Advise on nutrient profiles, ingredient suitability, and claim language boundaries

Recommend product testing, feeding trial considerations, and documentation standards

Provide technical guidance on nutritional interventions for senior pet health concerns (Kidney/Urinary, Cardiac health, Oral/Dental, Joint/Mobility)

Advise on both preventive and supportive nutrition strategies

Required

Bachelor's degree in animal nutrition, Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Food Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred

10+ years of experience in pet food R&D, with a strong focus on senior pet nutrition

Demonstrated expertise with AAFCO standards and NRC guidelines

Proven experience translating research into commercially viable, compliant formulations

Hands-on background with nutritional interventions addressing kidney/urinary, cardiac, oral/dental, and joint/mobility concerns in senior pets

Strong communication skills with the ability to lead scientific discussions and advise stakeholders

Ability to collaborate effectively with an international team, including frequent communication with headquarters in China, and adapt to cross-cultural work styles and time zones
