Non-Supervisory General Engineer
Air Force Civilian Service is currently seeking a full-time Non-Supervisory General Engineer to work in Nuclear Surety & Certification at Kirtland Air Force Base. The primary purpose of this position is to support compatibility certification activities leading to increased nuclear deterrence, providing technical support in coordinating and conducting nuclear compatibility certification tasks.

Responsibilities
Supports a multidiscipline team in evaluating Air Force aircraft or other weapons delivery platforms for nuclear compatibility certification
Analyzes systems and assesses test results and other evidence for compliance with interface agreements and other standards to make certification recommendations to AFNWC certifying officials
Assess new designs and modifications to Air Force systems from impacts to nuclear compatibility certification
Formulates certification task requirements
Support platform leads to coordinate certification efforts with external agencies including Air Force System Program Offices (SPO), Air Force Major Command offices, and the National Nuclear Surety Administration
Supports planning and conducting Aircraft Monitor and Control (AMAC) testing
Assess evidence and results across multiple engineering disciplines including systems engineering technical reviews, software assessments, simulations, and modeling
Qualification
Required
Current Department of War (DoW) federal employee
Submission of most recent SF50 to verify eligibility
2-page resume format required
Provide all academic degrees, professional military education and any other professional certifications on the resume
Strong background in applying engineering principles to aircraft systems to support nuclear surety and certification activities
Experience in systems engineering, integration, and test of complex systems with a diverse set of stakeholders across organizational boundaries
Experience with test plans, procedures, and report; support of certification activities, risk management; development and documentation of system requirements
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve through innovative approaches
U.S. Citizenship
Must be TS/SCI eligible
Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations
Employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance
Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements
This is a drug testing designated position
This position may require up to 25% travel
Candidates must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) All professional 0801 positions
