Responsibilities
Manage construction and MCRR contracts to ensure that all provisions of the contract comply with contract documents, regulations, MMSD policies and procedures, standards, and design criteria
Prepare and process all required construction management documentation including submittals, change orders, engineering estimates, claim analyses, correspondence, MMSD standard construction management forms, and red line drawings
Collect and analyze project background information in preparation for design phase activities
Troubleshoot contract-installed materials and equipment and interact with stakeholders to identify problems and plans for resolution
Review contract plans and specifications, prior to bidding, for constructability issues. Perform document reviews on contract plans and specifications developed by consultants to ensure the project as designed meets the objectives of the project as scoped
Cover construction inspection as needed
Complete special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil/environmental/mechanical engineering, or a related engineering degree
One year of job-related experience (advanced education degrees will be considered in lieu of experience)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read, interpret, and work with blueprints, specifications, and plans
Knowledge of and the ability to apply various construction codes and standards
Ability to keep accurate and detailed records and field notes. Contribute to detailed technical reports
Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relations
Ability to apply knowledge of OSHA confined space entry procedures and to use surveying and field-testing equipment
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS software
Valid driver's license and a good driving record at time of application, during the selection process, and throughout employment
