Responsibilities
Design and conduct research studies and interpret data under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator (PI)
Work independently and collaboratively on research projects
Participate in the design and execution of observational studies, clinical trials, and implementation research related to vascular and kidney disease
Conduct data collection, management, and analysis using clinical and population-based datasets
Contribute to the development of study protocols, manuals of procedures, and regulatory documentation
Assist with preparation of grant proposals and scientific manuscripts
Maintain accurate and up-to-date research documentation in accordance with study and institutional requirements
The Post Doctoral Fellow will be expected to complete research projects under the guidance of the faculty mentor; analyze and interpret study results; prepare publication-quality manuscripts, including tables and figures; and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
Review and synthesize relevant scientific literature to inform study design and interpretation
Develop research questions and contribute to study design and analytic strategies
Engage regularly with the PI, faculty mentors, and research team to discuss study progress, design considerations, and interpretation of results
Present research aims and findings at departmental seminars and at local and national scientific meetings
Prepare abstracts, posters, and manuscripts as first author when appropriate
Attend and maintain compliance with all required University and Department orientation and training sessions; adhere to IRB, data security, and research compliance requirements; and participate in departmental seminars and regular research meetings
Qualification
Required
PhD or equivalent experience in public health, psychology, dementia, geriatrics, hypertension, kidney disease, or other health-related field
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position
