Responsibilities

Directs department activities, through subordinates, to design requested solutions according to the contractual specifications the Front Line has agreed with customers

Leads, directs, evaluates and develops a team of mechanical engineers and designers to ensure that the organization's engineering strategy is implemented effectively, consistently, and according to established guidelines and budgets

Develops engineering competences and processes

Forecasts operating costs of department and directs budgeting

Collaborates with management, production and R&D, to determine engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness

Required

5+ years of experience in KONE engineering or in team lead / managerial position

Master or Bachelor degree in mechanical or other relevant engineering field

Understanding of new construction and building modernization business and processes

Holistic knowledge of KONE solutions, products and processes in his/her responsibility area

Understanding of applicable safety and environmental norms and standards

Understanding of manufacturing processes

Commercial business experience and/or strong business orientated mind-set

Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma practices
