Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and over the phone
Document patient arrivals in the Practice Management System (EMR)
Verify patient identity using their date of birth and name, creating accounts for new patients
Prepare necessary paperwork for patient appointments prior to arrival
Reschedule "No Show" appointments and ensure appropriate notes are maintained
Schedule appointments that optimize patient satisfaction and provider efficiency
Assist patients in emergency situations with care and judgment
Update patient records in the Practice Management System (EMR) as needed
Verify insurance eligibility and necessary authorizations; communicate with the billing department when required
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area
Collect patient copays and balances at check-in/out while safeguarding patient confidentiality
Demonstrate superior customer service skills and contribute positively to the team environment
Answer phone calls promptly and courteously, addressing patient inquiries efficiently
Other duties as assigned by Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma required
Availability for part-time hours, including potential weekends
Preferred
Associate's Degree preferred
1 year of customer service experience in a health care environment preferred
