Telephony Engineer

Curate Partners is seeking a Contact Center Telephony Engineer to own and support the telephony and voice infrastructure within a CCaaS environment. This role focuses on call routing, telephony configuration, and voice operations, ensuring the reliability and performance of the voice platform.

Responsibilities

Administer and configure Five9 contact center telephony environments
Design, implement, and troubleshoot inbound and outbound call flows
Configure and maintain IVR, ACD, queues, skills, and routing logic
Manage dial plans, DID numbers, number provisioning, and porting
Support SIP trunking, PSTN connectivity, SBCs, and carrier integrations
Diagnose and resolve call issues such as: dropped calls, one-way audio, failed transfers, poor call quality (latency, jitter, packet loss)
Partner with carriers and internal teams on telephony incidents and root-cause analysis
Support cutovers and migrations from legacy PBX or contact center platforms to Five9 (if applicable)
Ensure voice platform reliability, performance, and operational stability

Required

Hands-on experience with Five9 administration, telephony configuration, or implementation
Strong experience with similar platforms such as NICE CXone, Genesys Cloud, Talkdesk, or Avaya AXP
Strong understanding of telephony and voice fundamentals, including SIP, RTP, PSTN
DID numbers, trunks, SBCs
IVR and ACD concepts
Call routing and dial plan logic
Experience troubleshooting voice and call-flow issues in production environments
Familiarity with carrier provisioning, number porting, and (if applicable) E911
Comfort operating in an incident-response or support-oriented environment

Preferred

Experience with Wireshark or packet capture tools
Voice quality analysis (MOS, jitter, latency)
Contact center migrations or platform cutovers
Light scripting or automation for operational tasks (secondary to telephony expertise)
