Responsibilities

Review completed background interview documentation checking for inconsistencies, errors, omissions, falsifications and minimum requirements to ensure accuracy and completion before beginning initial candidate interview

Conduct background investigations by interviewing employers, co-workers, neighbors, law enforcement officials, military personnel, members of the candidate’s family and personal references

Prepare detailed and complete interview statements for each person being interviewed in order to allow a reviewer to draw reasonable and logical conclusions about the prospective candidates

Prepare documentation for inclusion into a results of investigation package organizing all investigative material in accordance with established procedures

Prepares detailed summary of adverse information based upon objective analysis and evaluation of candidate’s background, and interviewee statements, as measured against requirement standards as set forth by the FIS

Ability to conduct interviews remotely and/or in-person and be able to travel up to 50% of the time

Spanish Speaking is a plus

Open to completing an approved NTS Background Investigator course, if this requirement hasn't already been met

Level I - 3 years of general experience (i.e., military, local, state, or federal law enforcement or investigative functions) within the least 5 years and Completion of 'New Investigator' and OHS-Specific. High School Diploma or equivalent

Level II - 1 year of specialized Federal background investigative experience within the least five (5) years and OHS-Specific. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

Level III - 3 year of specialized Federal background investigative experience within the least five (5) years and OHS-Specific. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

Level IV - 5 year of specialized Federal background investigative experience within the least five (5) years and OHS-Specific. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
