Engineering Leadership & Design: Lead the design and development of 30% and IFP engineering plan sets for solar and BESS projects, including detailed site plans, 1-line diagrams, stringing plans, and equipment layouts. Review and approve designs to ensure technical accuracy, code compliance (NEC, IEEE, UL, and local AHJ requirements), and alignment with project and utility specifications. Develop and review PV system calculations, cable sizing, grounding, and overcurrent protection in accordance with NEC and best engineering practices. Provide engineering support to the Development and Operations teams, including conceptual layouts, technical feasibility reviews, and cost-effective design solutions
IFP and IFC Design Coordination: Coordinate directly with EORs and utilities to manage and deliver IFP (Issued for Permit) and IFC (Issued for Construction) plan sets within established project timelines. Oversee technical submittals and ensure that drawings and specifications meet AHJ, interconnection, and EPC requirements. Review electrical studies and reports (load flow, short-circuit, coordination) and provide recommendations for design improvements or equipment selection
BESS & Equipment Selection: Lead the engineering and integration of DC-coupled and AC-coupled BESS systems, including inverter and battery configurations, interconnection strategies, and protection coordination. Support major equipment selection, including switchgear, reclosers, transformers, GOAB, relays, and communication systems.
