Union Pacific Railroad is seeking a Year Round Intern in their Technology Department. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in Application Development, Cybersecurity, or Infrastructure/Platform teams while working on real-world projects and collaborating with peers and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

Learn and perform the core processes and work tasks required to build and support secure and highly available enterprise software applications and platforms

Participate in design sessions, sprint planning and code reviews

Track and maintain status of projects using tools such as JIRA

Build and strengthen a network of professional contacts within departments and across the company

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

College credits equivalent to one year toward an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, MIS, or a related field

Proficient verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work on-site at a Union Pacific office in Omaha, NE

Preferred

Experience in an object oriented programming language, such as Java, Python, or C++
