Rural Texas Strong Program Director

The Rural Texas Strong Program Director will be responsible for the implementation of the federal Rural Health Transformation Program, overseeing its strategic operations, coordinating activities, and managing budgets while representing the agency at various meetings and events.

Responsibilities

Directs program activities and/or business functions related to the implementation of the RHT Program. (30%)
Interfaces and communicates effectively with diverse groups, including agency staff, medical/provider associations, workgroups, advisory committees, legislative staff, client advocates, attorneys, state/federal auditors, and interested parties. Represents the agency at business meetings, hearings, legislative sessions, conferences, and seminars or on boards, panels, and committees. (25%)
Provides professional oversight and guidance to other occupations or support staff, including executive and/or management-level staff, to ensure compliance with and adherence to regulatory standards and established procedures. (15%)
Approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and directs evaluation activities. (15%)
Reviews and approves budgets and major expenditures; and ensures that requirements of funding sources are met. (10%)
Performs related work as assigned. (5%)

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years' experience with rural hospital administration or operations
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the management and direction of a program relevant to rural health
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory team managing a team of staff members
Minimum of 2 years' experience communicating with legislative members and staff

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
