Natural Gas Scheduler
CFE International is a Houston-based affiliate of Comisión Federal de Electricidad, focused on supplying natural gas for power generation in Mexico and marketing natural gas in the United States. The Scheduler is responsible for managing nominations, scheduling, and monitoring the transportation, purchases, sales, and storage of gas to ensure efficient delivery aligned with commercial strategies and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
Nominate, schedule, and confirm gas transportation and storage, ensuring alignment with pipeline contracts and commercial terms
Monitor flow data and pipeline bulletins in every cycle; adjust nominations to manage imbalances and resolve supply interruptions
Track operational notices, outages, and capacity changes; communicate impacts promptly to traders, operations teams, and counterparties
Optimize supply and transportation costs by aligning nominations with purchase-and-sale obligations and asset economics
Reconcile daily and monthly pipeline statements, research discrepancies, and validate charges before settlement
Compile operational metrics and scheduling reports for internal performance reviews and strategic analysis
Serve as the primary point of contact with pipeline schedulers and control rooms to ensure accurate, real-time communication
Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage during critical periods
Assist in onboarding and mentoring new schedulers, sharing best practices and system know-how
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance or related field
3+ years in scheduling, supply-chain coordination, or energy-logistics roles with tight operational timelines
Advanced Excel and strong aptitude for learning specialized scheduling systems
Sharp analytical skills and attention to detail when balancing volumes and reconciling data
Commercial insight and clear understanding of how operational decisions affect financial outcomes
Ability to analyze complex operational situations, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions
Effective written and verbal communication for coordinating with internal teams and counterparties
Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays; maintain composure under pressure
Preferred
Familiarity with natural-gas pipeline operations, electronic bulletin boards (EBBs), and energy-trading or ETRM platforms
Understanding of U.S. regulatory standards (e.g., FERC, NAESB) and cross-border gas logistics
Strong bilingual communication (English & Spanish)
Discretion in handling sensitive information
Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity
Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
