Controls Technician

Responsibilities
Ability to read and understand a variety of electrical drawings and navigate via understanding of electrical symbols
Understanding of controls schematics, ladder diagrams, and relay logic
Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot low and high voltage controls and understanding of PLC input/output's, terminology, software, relay logic, current paths, and electrical components
Ability to troubleshoot and navigate and adjust parameters on VFD's
Evaluate problems in an industrial/manufacturing environment and recommend possible solutions
Ability to work in tight confined spaces or elevated areas
Working knowledge of instrumentation devises such as O2 sensors, controls devices, and fiber optics installation/terminations
Lay out, thread and run ridged conduit
Cable tray layout and installation
Qualification
Required
Strong skill sets in motors, controls wiring, and specification and design experience
Strong understanding of power, wiring, and load usage
Ability to analyze, interpret, or create graphical analyses of power usage of equipment, motors, and systems
Utilization of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Software
Ability to read and understand a variety of electrical drawings and navigate via understanding of electrical symbols
Understanding of controls schematics, ladder diagrams, and relay logic
Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot low and high voltage controls and understanding of PLC input/output's, terminology, software, relay logic, current paths, and electrical components

Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses at all times), respirator when required
Able to work 8 -10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts
Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching
Able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required
Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers
Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job
