Responsibilities
Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent and trademark applications
Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searching and analysis
Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to identify and protect innovations
Advise on IP strategy, portfolio management, and risk mitigation
Support IP litigation, licensing, and due diligence activities
Monitor competitor IP and industry trends
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active and in good standing with the state bar association
Member of the US Patent Bar
Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work collaboratively with other legal professionals and support staff
Preferred
A background in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred, although the ideal candidate must be willing and able to practice in more than one technical area
One to three years of experience in patent prosecution is preferred
